A UTS business alumnus and influential member of the UTS Business School’s industry advisory board, Maile Carnegie has been appointed Managing Director for Google Australia and New Zealand.

Formerly MD of Procter & Gamble (P&G), Ms Carnegie brings more than twenty years’ experience and business leadership in the consumer goods industry to Google as well as ongoing insight and guidance to UTS business education.

UTS Dean of Business Professor Roy Green said the University was proud to see one of its graduates not only succeed so impressively in her career but in her ongoing contribution to business education and research.

“The deepening relationship with Maile through our Business School Advisory Board has been a great example of the ways alumni can make a direct and lasting impact on UTS,” Professor Green said

“We look forward to working with Maile in her new role at Google and also to fostering a productive relationship with her successor at P&G. Both Google and P&G inspire us with what creative business leadership and practice can achieve.”

Established last year, the Business School Advisory Board advises and makes recommendations to the Dean on relationships with industry, government and the community. Members act as advocates and provide strategic links to key global business, industry, government and community bodies.

In speaking of her alma mater Ms Carnegie has said “I see UTS's key strength as its ability to consistently produce graduates who are able to tackle the business problems that are happening today.”

Chaired by former head of IBM, Australia/New Zealand, Glen Boreham, other UTS Business Advisory Board members include Andrew Liveris, chair and CEO of the Dow Chemical Company, Michael Rennie, Managing Partner of McKinsey & Co Australia-New Zealand, Elizabeth Ann Macgregor, director of Sydney's Museum of Contemporary Art and Patricia Forsythe, executive director of the Sydney Business Chamber.
